As you could notice in my posts, one of the things that most fascinates me in Indonesia is the people I was able to meet here. And the best way I found to share with you the singularity of them is through the children. Their shyness and happiness, in addition to the beautiful colors they wear, make them a very special reflection of this unforgettable nation.
In my last post in this blog, I selected a series of wonderful shots taken by the team during the 4 weeks of assignment in order to share a little bit of this beauty with you. Enjoy!

Selamat Tinggal (Goodbye), Corporate Service Corps!
The sad and emotional farewell week left a lot of memories... the feeling of mission accomplished with our clients, the new friends who will be missed, the personal and professional growth in a much higher level than I ever expected.
Today I can really say that being in the Corporate Service Corps program changed my life, my personal values, the way I see the world. I met people whom I trust and had pleasure working with. I met a country with people who surprised me by their honesty, happiness and love in every step taken.
The week started with our final presentation to the management team at BPPT. Terry, Sergio and I spent three hours presenting and discussing the final recommendations of our project. The success of the presentation was a clear result of the productive and friendly work environment of the fours weeks with these wonderful people!
On Tuesday we said goodbye to our daily office and went for a city tour at Bandung with our BPPT friends, Bapak Deni, Bapak Sahal and Bapak Agung.
The official conclusion of our CSC assignment was held at the West Java Governor’s Office. One team member of each of the three teams was elected to present the final recommendations. Terry and Sergio kindly gave me the opportunity of presenting BPPT results.

IBM Recommendations provided by our friend Karen Freudenberg to the Government Representative
On Thursday night BPPT Team invited us to a team farewell dinner at Takashimaya Hotel in Lembang. Some of us had the courage to get on the stage to sing together with the night singer... and guess what? I wouldn't miss that! "La Bamba" was the song elected! Awesome!
After dancing and having a lot of fun, BPPT Team surprised us once more with an emotional final speech of THANK YOU followed by the best souvenir: an angklung, the Indonesian musical instrument that I loved so much.
There are no words left to express how grateful I am for the opportunity provided by IBM and for the happiness I'll always feel when remembering these memories... THANK YOU, Corporate Service Corps! Thank you, IBM! Thank you, ABV! Thank you, each of my CSC team friends! And thank you, for each of you who followed this blog and send me your positive vibrations!

Last weekend in Bandung
It's unbelievable to think that we are already achieving the end of our CSC project! The time went really fast...
Our good byes started in our last weekend in Bandung. The weekend started at 6AM on Saturday, when the team went on a Team Activity trip hostel by ABV to the strawberry fields in Ciwidey.
Ciwidey is a small village in the mountains, located 32km away from downtown Bandung. The village is a beautiful green carpet of tea plantation and strawberry fields. The air is cool, and it was great to get our coats out of the luggage and breathe fresh air!
Our first sightseeing stop at C was at Kawah Putih,
a lake located in a volcanic crater. Despite the strong smell of
sulfur, the place is an amazing gift for the eyes. Beautiful!
Oops! A small unexpected event during the trip helped us have some fun! The car really broke, but my contribution was only for the picture. =P
After 20 minutes more on the road, we got to the Kampung Strawberry Resort, the place we would stay in during the weekend. Before doing the check in, we had the opportunity of being in a huge strawberry field and pick our own strawberries for the afternoon.
After lunch we were presented to our bungalows! Mine was the farthest one from the main entrance of the hotel, and it was surrounded by a lake, with nature all around. I even had a rooster in my garden to wake me up early! Of course this bungalow was elected the "party house"!
On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we headed back to Bandung stopping by some tea plantation fields. Of course we also did not miss a boat ride on another volcanic lake (Patenggang lake)!
You may find interesting that there are some of us wearing green... we were celebrating St. Patrick's Day with our Irish friend David Tilson!
The weekend ended with an amazing late lunch at "Porto", one of my favorite restaurants in Bandung. The name sounds Portuguese, but the restaurant is in fact Italian!
Fully energized by the country side of Bandung, we took a good sleep to get ready for the final week of our CSC assignment!

The "boys" had a relaxing moment at hot springs (while the "girls" preferred to spend time shopping at the local market). The day ended with a wonderful dinner at Bebek Unti restaurant and some card playing time at the "party bungalow"!
